Don’t miss the opportunity to see the fascinating new exhibition, Magna Carta and the Forest Charters, at Durham Cathedral this summer.
It’s a unique opportunity to see all three issues of Durham Cathedral’s Magna Carta, one of the most influential texts in British history and a document which still exerts influence today. The exhibition, inside the Collections Gallery in Open Treasure, displays the only surviving copy of the 1216 issue, and further issues from 1225 and 1300. These are shown alongside their associated Forest Charters, from 1217, 1225 and 1300. The exhibition runs until 9 September.
