Dark Sky Friendly Durham
Stargazing tourism is growing in popularity across the UK and Durham has a number of dark sky discovery sites on its doorstep. Visit County Durham currently have a number of initiatives in place to support businesses to ensure that they have all the skills and information they need to welcome visitors who will incorporate star gazing as part of their visit.
Due to the nature of star gazing, it helps to support the rural economy and off peak occupancy. You do not need to change your business model – simply include dark skies alongside your business description in your promotional material.
