Each year Visit County Durham runs a 6-month national marketing campaign in partnership with visitor economy businesses, featuring high profile advertising including national media partnerships, out of home posters and influencer commissions. A range of marketing opportunities are available for businesses to be part of, and benefit from, the campaign activity.

Explore From Your Door

Targeting residents of the region, this digital campaign encourages consumers to rediscover where they live. Tapping in to the ‘Local Allure’ trend, which also sees a renewed sense of community result in people wanting to support their local businesses, Explore From Your Door highlights lesser known attractions, walking and cycling routes, beauty spots and picnic sites. The activity is also underpinned by Countryside Code messaging, to ensure people are enjoying Durham’s great outdoors safely and responsibly. As part of the activity, a weekly Explore From Your Door feature is broadcast on Durham OnAir.
