City of Culture bid continues

Great news for County Durham and the wider North East England as the county moved a step closer to securing UK City of Culture 2025.

DCMS announced late last Friday night that County Durham was one of just four locations from across the UK to be shortlisted for the prestigious title out of the original 20 that applied.

The judging panel will now visit the county in May ahead of the winner being announced later that month. Securing UK City of Culture would bring colossal social and economic benefits and people should continue to support the #Durham2025 campaign.
