Successful partnership promoting the Durham Coast renewed

Publication Date: 13th May 2024

A partnership that is helping to raise awareness of Durham’s coastal tourism offer with international audiences has been renewed.

Visit County Durham is once again joining forces with the National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA) to promote the county’s dramatic coastline as a sustainable year-round holiday destination.

As an official partner, Durham coastal attractions, activities, accommodation and events are featured on the England’s Coast website, where visitors can find inspiration for their next seaside getaway. The county is also featured in England’s Coast communications and marketing activity.

The announcement comes during the national Coast for All campaign, which showcases the diversity of coastal destinations across the UK.

Michelle Gorman, managing director of Visit County Durham, said: “Working with NCTA on the England’s Coast and Coast for All campaigns is an excellent opportunity to raise the profile and appeal of our coastal tourism offer with international audiences, whilst strengthening our links with other coastal destinations.” Samantha Richardson MBE, Academy Director at NCTA, added: “We’re thrilled to continue our close partnership with Visit County Durham. Building on our new A Coast for All… campaign, we look forward to encouraging more UK and international visits to this wonderful stretch of the coast. Whether it’s to tuck into local food and drink, walk the Coast Path or discover the local nature and wildlife, there’s plenty to entice an entirely new audience and we look forward to another year of great collaboration ahead.”
