New College Durham has over 50 different higher education and professional qualifications in a diverse range of subjects. We deliver these programmes in addition to other professional training options and qualifications to support you in the development of your whole organisation.

Enhancing the qualifications and potential of your existing employees is an ideal way of growing your business. We offer flexible study options for the majority of our programmes including day-release, part-time or evenings.

Bespoke training options

If you have a specific organisational need, we can work with you to develop bespoke training solutions. From short courses to tailored foundation degree programmes, we are equipped to respond to changes in your industry and can support with the growing needs of your business.

With our status as one of only two colleges in England with Higher Education Funding Council approval to write and validate our own foundation degrees, we can work with you to meet your training needs by developing a new degree programme specific to your organisation.

Free IT training available to Durham Residents

New College Durham is now delivering a range of free digital qualifications aimed at up skilling employees who live in Durham. The aim is to work closely with local employers to address any digital skills gaps that you may have in your workforce.

Employees can receive bespoke non-accredited training such as a range of introductory short workshops looking at digital file management, spreadsheets, databases, presentations or enrol on one of a range of accredited programmes such as:

  • Computer and Online basics
  • Essential Digital Skills for Life - Entry level 3
  • Essential Digital Skills for Work - Entry level 3
  • Essential Digital Skills for Life - Level 1
  • Essential Digital Skills for Work - Level 1
  • ECDL qualifications at levels 1-3
  • ITQ units
  • Essential Digital Award

Other training options include a range of Microsoft Office Specialist and Adobe qualifications including:
